Lampshade
The task is to create a lamp using only a 3D-printed lattice. By utilizing script-only CAD modeling software OpenSCAD, designers have full authority over the modeling procedure. The lamp designs in this project support a typical LED light source.

My Role
Initial Drawings
Before writing the script, we created three different lampshade designs and explored generative design options while reviewing OpenSCAD libraries.

Coding
To simplify the 3D modeling process of intricate mathematical functions, I developed several programs utilizing the dotSCAD library.

Visualization
The final designs were rendered using KeyShot11 and Fusion 360, and I utilized the Shapeways online service to approximate the cost of 3D printing.

Ideation
The sketches below present various designs for lampshades, exploring different shapes, angles, and directions for the light source.

OpenSCAD Software Outputs
Following a thorough exploration of various design options, I incorporated the dotSCAD library into my OpenSCAD software. This library offers a wide range of 2D and 3D shapes, paths, extrusions, and intricate mathematical functions.
